It's a treat to take the PCH all the way up to the most beautiful American city. It's also long and potentially dangerous if you disregard the speed limit and the wickedness of the tight turns. There are 3-4 hours between Cambria and Carmel by The Sea of purest scenery, or purest rendezvous between the great ocean and the rugged shore.
